One of the rapidly disappearing relics of the past in America are the General Stores. They serviced the community as both a suppy resource and a social gathering place. The general store in Dru Blair's hometown is no exception. Founded in the 1800's by Lon Blair, the small community of Blair in western Fairfield County, SC, the general store still stands today as a monument to the past.
The original watercolor painting depicts the Blair General store in the late 1970's still open for business despite the migration of many of the townsfolk to the suburbs. Over the last few years, the store has transitioned to an antique shop open infrequently.
"Blair General Store" measures 22" x 29" and is hand signed by Dru Blair. A smaller 11" 14" unsigned version is available for $40.00. It is also available as a Giclée (pronounced "zhee-clay'), which refers to a 7-color print which utilizes the latest in digital technology to reproduce art with breathtaking accuracy. This is the largest and most expensive version of our print line, usually measuring an overall 42" inches wide, and printed on museum quality Hahnemuhle paper for $495. A near perfect replica of the original painting, Giclée prints are limited to only 50 examples of each image, and are created for the most discriminating collectors.
