with an opaque blue-gray to push them back further. Next the closer mountains are painted
with less blue. Rennaisance painters discovered that as objects are farther away, they
appear to desaturate and turn blue. |

the rocks on the right , leaving lighter areas to indicate where sunlight is cast. |
