Step by Step: Apache Longbow Part 4

Backing away slightly shows the softness that will help indicate both reflected light from the water and spray from the rotors.

longbow28.jpg (16989 bytes) The sand on the bottom of the river is rendered as an underpainting before the blues and light reflections are added.

longbow29.jpg (16102 bytes) After adding detail to the water and rocks, I removed the frisket to reveal the Apache. The darker rectangle around the helicopter is new frisket to keep the overspray off of the background while I prepare to refine the details of the helicopter.

Close-up reveals the beginning of the detailing process. Bits of frisket covering small areas often add confusion because it's hard to see where
the frisket ends and the surface of the painting begins.
